     BIOGRAPHY

Dan Leffler began his career in music as a musician playing guitar, bass, and keys in bands while in grade school. His interest in recording began at age twelve when he acquired two mono open reel recorders. Before knowing what multitrack recording was, he figured out how to play back one recorded instrument through a small P.A. whilst recording an additional part to the other recorder. Not aware that was the moment his recording career had begun. In no time, Dan found himself recording many local bands as well as bands that he performed with. Once out of school and after a few years of traveling and performing, his love for recording lead him into the studio as a profession.

Dan moved to Nashville, TN and immediately teamed up with Producer/Engineer Richard Dodd (George Harrison, Robert Plant, Tom Petty, Roy Orbison) and Producer/Engineer Peter Coleman (Blondie, Pat Benatar, The Knack) who mentored Dan through his early years as an engineer. After a few short months he had his first engineered release for an artist on Atlantic Records. The time spent with these accomplished veterans allowed him to absorb nearly sixty years of passed on technical experience.

After his time spent in Nashville, Dan moved to Los Angeles to further his professional career and hone his skills as a producer. This is where he met legendary producer, Rick Rubin (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Audioslave, Run-DMC, Johnny Cash) and many more of this caliber. Again, absorbing techniques from the top echelon of the industry. Soon after, he was recording projects including Mick Jagger, Eric Clapton, Christina Aguilera, Jimmy Eat World, Paul McCartney and Audioslave.
